Are you willing to be willing?

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You simply have to be willing to take the first step. Sometimes that's where real change begins.

Every person's story is different, but many of the challenges we face have something in common.

They leave us feeling stuck.

Together, we'll work to better understand what's keeping you there while developing practical tools to help you move forward.

My Specialities:

  • Couples & Relationships

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. Whether you're struggling with communication, trust, conflict, emotional distance, or blended family dynamics, we'll work together to strengthen your relationships and create healthier ways of connecting with the people who matter most.

  • Life Transitions

Divorce, grief, career changes, parenting challenges, and unexpected life events can leave you feeling uncertain about what comes next. Therapy provides a place to process those changes while helping you regain confidence and move forward with greater clarity.

  • Anxiety, Depression, and Mood Disorders

Living with anxiety, depression, or other mood disorders can make everyday life feel overwhelming. Together we'll explore what's contributing to those struggles while developing practical strategies that help you experience greater stability, resilience, and hope.

  • ADHD and Personal Growth

ADHD often affects much more than attention. It can influence relationships, work, organization, and self-confidence. Together we'll identify practical strategies that fit the way your mind works while helping you build healthier habits and stronger relationships.

Meet Shelley Bartel, LCSCW

For more than 36 years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside individuals, couples, and families through some of life's most difficult seasons. My approach combines compassion with honesty, acceptance with accountability, and encouragement with practical guidance.

Clients often tell me they appreciate that I create a space where they feel genuinely seen and understood while also being challenged to grow. I believe meaningful therapy happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about where they are and supported enough to believe that change is possible.

My role isn't simply to listen. It's to help you recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, better understand yourself and your relationships, and develop practical strategies that allow you to move forward with greater confidence.

If we work together, my hope is that you'll leave each session with greater clarity, renewed perspective, and practical steps you can begin applying in your everyday life.

You can expect a safe, supportive relationship built on compassion, honesty, and a shared commitment to meaningful change.

  • A safe place to be yourself

Therapy should be one of the few places where you don't have to pretend everything is okay. I strive to create an environment where you feel accepted exactly as you are while knowing we'll continue working toward where you'd like to be.

  • Honest conversations that lead to growth

Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs come from seeing familiar situations in a different way. I'll offer thoughtful feedback, ask challenging questions when appropriate, and help you identify patterns that may no longer be serving you.

  • Practical tools for lasting change

Insight is valuable, but insight alone doesn't change lives. Together we'll develop realistic strategies you can begin using outside of our sessions so that the work we do together continues long after you leave my office.

You don’t have to stay stuck.
